Is she a “forgotten woman of history” or is this just the first time you’ve personally heard about her?
This is broadly about the clickbait titling convention of claiming a woman is unknown or forgotten when the person is going to read you a reasonably extensive Wiki page.
And Wiki pages citing several books and articles are notoriously a sure sign that someone isn’t the least bit forgotten.
*gently takes your hand* it is ok to learn new information and to want to present it to people. That’s how we all learn.
But, just because the information is new to you does not mean it is not already extensively documented. This is especially true if it’s from a different geographic context than your own and you might not have learned in your pre-university history education.
It’s ok to say something is just interesting and cool without suggesting that you’ve found something new that the field or society at large have forgotten. Information does not need to be novel to be fascinating.
Listen man, you need to read the news. Actually seek it out and read it. Preferably local or state news if you have it.
My congressman and Senators are the most boring moderate white guys to ever moderate white guy.
And they are out there every single fucking day raising hell like I haven’t seen in ten years.
They’re boycotting the joint address. Trying to block every piece of legislation and every nominee. They’re trying to get into federal buildings to see what DOGE is doing. They’re holding town halls every week. They’re holding job fairs for laid off feds and connecting them to resources.
These boring white guys are getting up in republicans faces during hearings and screaming at them red faced with righteous fury.
My guys ALONE are doing a fuck ton.

Well, this could definitely explain the illnesses that are lasting 4 weeks or longer in my non-masking coworkers. Whereas when I caught whatever was going around (managed a couple weeks before it got past my masking) it lasted 5 days.
