KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged its allies to stop “watching” and take steps before North Korean troops deployed in Russia reach the battlefield, and the country’s army chief warned that his troops are facing “one of the most powerful offensives” by Moscow since the all-out war started more than two years ago.
Zelenskyy raised the prospect of a preemptive Ukrainian strike on camps where the North Korean troops are being trained and said Kyiv knows their location. But he said Ukraine can’t do it without permission from allies to use Western-made long-range weapons to hit targets deep inside Russia.
“But instead … America is watching, Britain is watching, Germany is watching. Everyone is just waiting for the North Korean military to start attacking Ukrainians as well,” Zelenskyy said in a post late Friday on the Telegram messaging app.
The Biden administration said Thursday that some 8,000 North Korean soldiers are now in Russia’s Kursk region near Ukraine’s border and are preparing to help the Kremlin fight against Ukrainian troops in the coming days.

One of the things we learned yesterday was that Republican women did not break for Harris the way we hoped. They were able to put aside their own personal values, beliefs and even risk their own safety to keep a Democrat out of the White House. The left wing, once again, was not able to do that.
The problem was not the platform. People who said they wanted to punch Nazis but couldn’t even vote against Trump? There was no platform that could unify them.
No matter where you voted, but especially if you voted in a battleground state, please make sure it counted. Check your texts, emails, voicemails, and answer your phone if it rings.
Be cautious about providing personal information to strangers in this high-stakes situation. Grifters love a time crunch. Verify phone numbers and email addresses. Look up the ballot curing process, and make sure you understand what should and should not be asked of you.
Now is a good time to check if you need to renew your passport or get one for the first time.
Not even as an alarmist thing, but because you want to do it NOW before any requirements change and your get distracted by the world. It’s just a good thing to have.
