the premise of leverage was based on an insurance company denying a claim that would’ve saved a sick child because of a “responsibility to shareholders, no exceptions”
all Bucky wanted to do was get some more tea and now this. Thanks a lot, Sam. You had to fuckin’ tell him, you ass.
Aggressively Progressive Steve Rogers is so what I’m here for.
STeve would unleash and be all “DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WHOOPING COUGH SUCKS?! DO YOU?! DO YOU REALLY?! ARE YOU FUCKIN’ STUPID?! BUCKY, TELL THEM HOW I BROKE TWO RIBS! TELL THEM!”
Omg, new headcanon, Beleaguered Bucky Barnes being grabbed by the shoulders and practically lifted into camera view by Steve shouting about how Bucky needs to confirm some terrible illness because no one else is alive form that time to corroborate any of Steve’s claims. Bucky shyly telling the reporters that yes, Steve did indeed have that thing adn yeah it is dangerous and Steve jumping back into frame like “I told you! I TOLD YOU IT SUCKED SHUT UP JENNY MCCARTHY!”
“AND YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE?! POLIO!”
“Steve you never had fucking polio-”
“YEA BUT IT STILL SUCKED! KNOW WHAT STOPPED IT?! VACCINES!”
“Oh my God, Steve.”
“I DIDN’T EVNENKNOW WHAT THAT SHOT WOULD DO TO ME BUT I TOOK IT!”
“Steve, that’s… That’s not really a good argument.”
“I DON’T CARE FOX NEWS NEEDS TO STOP USING MY IMAGE!”
“Steve, doll, calm down.”
“I VOTED FOR OBAMA!”
I love everything about this post
And all the while Sam is just laughing his fucking ass off and Bucky is wondering if he could just go take another nap for a few years.
Okay but imagine the savvy pediatrician who shyly sends Steve a message at Avengers Tower. She loves his message. Loves it. Wants to know if she can give her vaccinated kids a sticker of the shield because she wants other parents to subtly get the message, and of course what kid doesn’t love Cap? She’s no graphic artist, but she got a picture of the shield off the Internet …
… two weeks later, a box arrives at her office. It’s an order of shield stickers, very clearly actually produced by a graphic artist. Some of them sparkle, some are metallic, and some of them say “Protecting my friends by protecting me!” for the older kids who can appreciate the idiocy of the anti-vax movement.
There’s also a hand-written note with Pepper’s personal address at Avengers Tower listed on it: Contact us when you need more. No charge. Keep fighting the good fight.
They end up going on sale after the pediatrician’s colleagues see them and want to pass them out. Steve insists that any profit they might make should go to the March of Dimes. Tony and Pepper barely talk about it before they go “do you know how little it costs to produce stickers, Steve?” and decide to donate the entire sales cost. They’re not expensive to sell, either, but it adds up.
Vaccination rate goes up. Being an anti-vaxxer stops being trendy and starts being seen as living in the dark ages.
Steve Rogers, everyone.
It got better.
Much better.
This started out great and *kept getting better*.
The post I wanna reply to is gone, but it’s possible that Steve had polio and didn’t know it! Most cases are actually not severe/paralytic and many children recover completely, but post-polio syndrome could partly account for his trouble with muscle mass and easy fatigability years later.
Yeah so the Big Think is literally owned by big oil. They’re making shit up so people feel too exhausted to fight for any change. Ignore this kind of environmental nihilism, all it does it help the rich avoid change.
As a farmer.. homie thinking he is hot shit for hauling ONE BALE is so fucking funny let me put a rack on the back of my 02 dodge and i can haul fuckin 10 bales without needing the headers
A fault in the Cybertruck’s bed design allows debris to easily get trapped in the under-bed compartment. If moving hay, it blocks the air compressor intake, causing it to overheat. This affects the air suspension, which causes the truck to sink lopsided.
They found yet another design flaw of the cybertruck. Must be a day ending in “Y.”
you might be marked red on shiningami eyes because of the moths actually! Or more accurately the butterflies. I filter posts based a some key words including “terf” and consequently anything with “terf” in it gets blocked such as “butterfly,” “waterfall,” and “monsterfucker.” Like so:
The post in question is reblogged by my girlfriend from my own side blog that has “butterfly” in the title
that is quite honestly the funniest thing ever
Here’s a tumblr post I found with additional information about what’s been happening.
I’m rather embarrassed to only be finding about this now considering the earliest complaints I found with limited searching date back to a month ago. Needless to say, it has become fully unreliable, so it’s time to remove it.
Deviating from my usual posting content to share this, since I’m under the impression the Sky community is trans-friendly and thus may or may not be in the audience of people who use Shinigami Eyes.
As the person above me mentions, this not just a fluke. I had a look and the Firefox review page has very consistent comments noting discrimination against the non-binary, intersex, transmasc, and people of color. I dug around a bit more and found some similar complaints dating from around 2 months ago (potentially even 6?)
Have you seen this? I’m pretty sure you use the eyes
I posted a few days ago about how I Uninstalled it for this exact reason. Glad to reiterate: Shinigami Eyes is hostile to Intersex & Transmasc ppl. It’s actively bad and i no one recommend using it.
A sitting Congresswoman got a gay man arrested for shaking her hand. If you’re wondering what the state of the Republican Party is right now.
And yes it’s important that the man was gay because he was advocating for trans foster children in part because he was a gay foster child at the height of Gay Conversion pseudoscience and he recognizes that it’s in many ways the same struggle trans kids are facing now.
What took place Tuesday night is not entirely clear, and video recordings have yet to surface.
Following the encounter between Mace and McIntrye,as a reporter looked on, several officers arrested McIntyre on a misty Tuesday evening outside the Rayburn House Office Building. At the scene, other youth advocates shouted out concern and dismay.
Shortly before 8 p.m., Rep. Mace — who was the first female cadet to graduate from the Citadel military college, and has achieved recent attention for pushing to bar a fellow lawmaker who is trans from using the women’s bathroom — began posting a series of messages on the social media platform X. She cited a supportive phone call with president-elect Donald Trump, and described herself as being “physically accosted” by a “pro-tr*ns man.”
But three eyewitnesses disputed her characterization, saying they saw nothing but a routine handshake, followed by a request by the foster youth advocate that the Representative support transgender youth in foster care.
The fact that’s Mace is pushing for transphobia against colleagues seems like necessary context here – as are other parts of the article that highlight she “wore her right arm in a sling as she walked through the Capitol today”, but that “after U.S. Capitol Police arrived, Mace refused paramedics’ assistance”.
