The construction workers within the community will keep up on maintenance. You see that? This is solidarity and mutual aid in the face of capitalist oppression.

WORKERS CO-OPS WORKERS CO-OPS WORKERS CO-OPS WORKERS

The median rent in Houston(assuming this is Texas) is $1,853 a month. This person is likely being handed $59,296 a month. Even if they have to pay utilities or maintenance that’s still a comfortable six figure yearly salary. How the FUCK do they not have ANYTHING left over. Like how do you blow through nearly $60k a month. I could spend $60k in a month once, not EVERY month. That is a fucking embarrassment of riches, like I want to see this person’s bank statements, what in GOD’S name are you doing every month that costs $60k. At that point it is actually your fault if you don’t have a savings to deal with something like this, truly I cannot even fathom spending that much money every month. If I was making that kind of money I’d have like two savings accounts and a retirement fund and I’d have gold or some other easily liquidated asset to sell if something exactly like this happened, and I’m a dirt poor dipshit who’s never even seen that kind of money in person. The FUCK is this person’s excuse??

There seems to be a general malaise on most of Tumblr about TikTok getting banned in the United States.

I understand the problems, “brain rot”, whatever but- A government banning a social media app that opened the world for many people is legitimately scary and upsetting. Say what you want but, there are MANY global and local issues that would not have gotten the same traction, recognition, and outreach without TikTok.

And then add to this that Meta/Facebook was one the largest lobbyists working to get TikTok banned… Like- I think folks should be more concerned about the implications of what this means, especially since the ban goes into effect the day before inauguration.

A lot of small businesses are just staring at a cliff coming right for them and they genuinely don’t know what to do. It’s hard to explain how good TikTok has been for a lot of little businesses. It’s been accessible for people in a way that, like, Facebook hasn’t been.

I never got really into it but I know a lot of small business owners who are really, really freaked out.

Guys?

this is literally the first time i’ve seen this meme with the artist’s signature not blurred or cropped, so I looked him up and learned that he is Genildo Ronchi, a 56 year old Brazilian artist. He created this on his birthday in 2013 after changing his usual seat in his bus ride home and realizing he had a much nicer scenary to look at from the sunset-facing seat.

Genildo said in an interview that he is happy to see his piece doing the rounds on the web, but adds: “[the piece] being turned into a meme is great for sharing my work, but it’s important that you keep my signature.”

one time I tried a new buzz buzz toy and I arrived so hard I lost my hearing for 3 days and I clutched that thang so hard I bent the metal part

I think we should all know less about each other

I’m dying here

#kinda feel like i must be jorking it wrong because i’ve never experienced anything even close to that

could try edging and/or going slower to build up more, but i don’t think these are common reactions. most people will not experience that no matter what they do. some people are blessed with being easy, including zero refractory period. wired for hedonism, if you will.

unless we’re talking about some kind of self made ice toy, a good toy also should not melt. you could probably dent or even misshape silicone by mashing it too hard, but that’s physically inflicted damage and not a flaw in the construction.

Oh, look at dr. Orgasm over here! Why don’t you just come over and fuck me yourself if you’re such an expert, huh?

Not pertinent to anything in particular but I do think it’s kinda weird that we keep depicting cavemen in media crawling around on all fours covered in dirt with tangled, matted hair, speaking in broken, cobbled-together toddler language when like.

They were us.

Like literally genetically they were US, just like. A while ago.

Like

Would you trust a TV caveman with a baby? Probably not

A real life caveman though??? I think they’d be at least okay at it

This is actually really important and comes up in Anthropology classes all. The. Time.

As long as homo sapiens have existed, we have had the same emotional and mental capacity as you and I do today. You nailed it. They were US. Even Neaderthals existed alongside and had offspring with Homo Sapiens for many thousands of years.

There’s much evidence that cavemen would have had complex spoken language, culture (learned information passed down), symbolic interpretation, and I think they most certainly would have been able to handle holding a baby. In fact I have my suspicisions that an ancient homo sapiens mother may be a more present, attentive, and knowledgable mom than I could be today.

Do not let media trick you into believing we are the pinnacle of humanity. Unilinial evolution theory (google it quick I beg) is BUNK, GARBAGE, and the root of so much evil.

We’ve been human for a long, long time, and we are not inherently better than all those who came before.

Crying bc the events of Pacific’s Rim are literally happening right now. January 8 was the day Mako and Raleigh fought those kaijus in the Hong Kong double event. January 12 is the triple event where they close the breach. In two days we cancel the apocalypse.

JANUARY 12. ITS HAPPENING TODAY. ITS HAPPENING NOW. TODAY WE CANCEL THE APOCALYPSE!!!!!
