There’s this strange trend in liberal and vaguely leftist spaces where this is an obsession with Native imagery and symbolism but absolutely no actual Native presence. Native art and designs everywhere, Native jewelry (almost always turquoise pieces, I don’t see much beadwork and NEVER any quillwork), and a lot of images or Native people, usually staring ahead stoically and raising a fist and just generally looking like inspiring warriors. It’s the modern “progressive” version of the stoic Indian chief.

And there’s never any actual Native people in sight. Idk. Maybe this is just something I’ve encountered but it’s weird.

Once again a reminder that Trump is first and foremost a grifter. He said he wanted to ban TikTok because at the time that was beneficial to him. He’s allowing TikTok to be un-banned now because it’s beneficial to him. It is not some grand conspiracy, nor is it rocket science, or some behind-the-scenes chess being played between big tech and politicians. It’s all right here out in the open. TikTok wanted their American users back because we make up the bulk of their platform (and profit), and Trump wanted to be able to claim victory on this issue to win over young voters.

It’s just rich people supporting rich people – that will be the story of this administration.

It’s wild how relative pain and pain tolerance are. One time I flayed open my finger so bad I saw my own skeleton and I said “ow” and calmly did first aid on myself, and yet every time my hair gets caught in my necklace clasp it feels like I’m getting unplugged from the Matrix and I howl and weep

#there are just so many nerves on your scalp tho#honestly a stupid amount of nerves#not so many nerves on the skeleton parts

… Y’know, that actually makes a lot of sense. And my risks of scalp arthritis or scalp neuropathy are pretty low as far as I know.
