Already seeing people on tiktok saying “I still hate trump but he ate with this one” like … babes … you just got propagandized … that’s literally exactly what he created this situation in the hopes you would say …
Me, culturally Protestant, walking into a Catholic church filled balls to the walls with paintings sculptures candles and god knows what else: why’s there so much stuff
Me, Catholic, walking into a Protestant church with no depictions of Mary: where’s my mom
Me, vampire, walking into any denominational holy place: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Me, a janitor, sweeping up the vampires ashes: where the fUCk did all this dirt come from

jews have been sounding the alarm about the alarming rise of antisemitism and neo-nazi rhetoric around the world for years now, and have been largely dismissed by all sides of the political spectrum. they’re playing the victim, they’re exaggerating, they’re lying, they’re a distraction from other more important issues, etc etc.
i hope this can be a wakeup call for many. if this is shocking to you, i urge you to find jewish voices and creators to follow. antisemitism is a canary in the coal mine for fascism and jewish people are the ones most equipped to recognize it and oppose it.
we will all need each other more than ever for what’s to come. make sure the coalitions and networks you build include jewish people too.
An update on the TikTok situation from our monitoring on Reddit. Now you get TOS’ed for saying negative comments about meta and Zuckerberg, left-wing politics get flagged as misinformation, and you can’t tag #fucktrump #fuckelon or #fuckmeta but you CAN tag #fuckbiden and #fuckkamala

The next few weeks are going to be hard for many of us in the US. The new regime is going to come out of the gate in full attack mode. The LGBTQ community, people of color, immigrants, women, the poor and even our (already broken) health industry are going to be targeted.
This is an attempt to exhaust us with a game of civil rights whack-a-mole, and there is no doubt that some of us are going to feel absolutely wrecked every time we look at the news.
Here is my advice on surviving the next four years
Limit your exposure to the news, it’s fine to check the headlines, but
Order a big roll of postcard stamps from the USPS and buy some cheap, blank, postcards.
Sending physical mail can be more effective than signing online petitions, and it has the added benefit of getting you away from the computer. I personally prefer writing postcards because it feels more like I am taking tangible, physical action.
If you are especially organized, you can pre-print address labels for your representatives. I am 100% not that organized.
As of January 16, 2025, Microsoft has decided to automatically enable their AI service, CoPilot, on Word – even if you’ve previously turned off the service. They’ve also changed the process to disable it.
with tiktok apparently being back after only 20 ish hours, what I plan to do is download my bookmarks like I wanted and then get the hell off it. I’m not praising mr president for “saving” something he aimed to get rid of in the first place.
that said I’m left with one main question which is: how?
as in, by what legal process did the man supposedly overturn a supreme court decision? yes, political theatre, propaganda, whatever, that’s not the question I’m asking. I’m asking, what is the actual mechanism by which this is happening? how does this happen? is there any precedent for a president supposedly having this ability to just insta-reverse something that took months for a whole govt body to decide? I vaguely recall some bill passed late last year that would give the president more power than he constitutionally should have, but I wasn’t sure I understood it. is this connected to that?
but also, how much did he actually overturn it? did he overturn anything at all? clearly something is still in effect since you cannot find tiktok in the app store and when you search for it, this comes up:
can somebody who understands legalese help me understand what is actually happening here? I will accept even a half-baked attempt at an unbiased response. I know people have lots of strong opinions about tiktok and about trump and i’m aware there is a great degree of performativity happening here, but let’s save all that bs for a different post because that’s not what i’m asking about. i’m asking what is Going On. is the man straight up breaking the law? like. help
It’s not unbanned. He didn’t overturn the law. He can’t. This is temporary unless it sells.
