[ID: A number of colorful, fanciful illustrations of cats involved in the business of groceries: climbing around in vegetables, sleeping amongst baked goods, and ringing up patrons while wearing little cashier vests.]
I love that some of these are thematically realistic – like my favorite is the cat disappearing into the vegetables – but then you scroll down and it’s like oh, there’s a team of cats ringing up that lady’s tea and jam. There’s a cat loafing in the candy display case in the same image as one standing on its hind legs to help a patron weigh a bag of goodies. Delightful.
FRANCE HAS REACHED THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF SIGNATURES ON THE CITIZEN’S INITIATIVE AGAINST CONVERSION THERAPY IN THE EU!!
ONE COUNTRY DOWN, SIX TO GO!!
We also need still quite a few signatures in order to reach the one million required.
As to date, the six other countries with the most signatures are:
Spain – 38.72%
Finland – 30.31%
Ireland – 24.86%
Netherlands – 24.15%
Germany – 23.54%
Belgium – 23.09%
So yeah, still a long way to go, but we ARE slowly getting closer. Don’t stop now! Don’t let this stay within the community, either, if you have any friends or family who are open to queer rights, get them to sign, too!
“We the Builders” aims to be a secure outlet for government workers to share how their workplaces are being impacted by DOGE, and a place to explain the real world impact of its access to government tech systems, a former federal worker behind the project tells The Verge. The website was created by people who “made government websites easier to use while protecting the integrity of your personal information,” according to its description. Had DOGE wanted “to use technology to build a more efficient country, they would ask us,” the site says. “But they haven’t. They are destroyers. We are the builders.”
Pissed off federal workers are organizing and it’s magnificent!
“Jeff Bezos, the billionaire owner of The Washington Post, revealed on Wednesday that the newspaper’s editorial pages are to be overhauled to focus on “personal liberties and free markets” in a seismic shift for one of America’s most prestigious publications.
In a message to staff, which the Amazon tycoon shared on X, Bezos confirmed that The Post’s opinion editor, David Shipley, is leaving the newspaper.”
“The move comes as Bezos and the leaders of the nation’s biggest technology companies cozy up to President Donald Trump. Last year, The Post ended its tradition of endorsing presidential nominees, which led to a hemorrhaging of subscribers.
The decision on editorial pages prompted instant backlash from Post staffers, but fellow billionaire and Trump aide Elon Musk said, “Bravo, Jeff Bezos!”
In his note, Bezos wrote, “We are going to be writing every day in support and defense of two pillars: personal liberties and free markets. We’ll cover other topics too of course, but viewpoints opposing those pillars will be left to be published by others.”
While the billionaire is touting cuts to government, the new administration has already delivered $86 million to Musk’s rocket company since the inauguration.
