another frustration of old age & the curse of memory is that I distinctly remember near-constant screaming about Obama’s drone strikes in 2015/2016, which evaporated seemingly overnight when Trump took office.
truly could not get any “Both Sides!” naysayer to give one single damn about the drone strike rate skyrocketing — far exceeding Obama’s, along with removing any oversight & rules to avoid civilian casualties — as soon as Trump took office. now the pattern repeats with Gaza.
I have to conclude that a great many of you are actually completely on board with war & suffering abroad: your main objection is simply that (1) you want Republicans in charge of it, (2) you specifically prefer Republicans increasing it much as possible.
no wonder reducing deaths was so meaningless to you; no wonder nearly eliminating drone strikes got a collective yawn & ending forever wars didn’t matter.
no wonder every argument for harm reduction is DOA… I’m the idiot because I think every life that can be improved or saved is infinitely valuable, & I’m simply debasing myself by talking to Maximum Harm advocates as if they have morals.
