Anyway if you’re looking for a coping mechanism or distraction for the next few days (fuck the inauguration), I’m personally a fan of watching/listening to La Vie Boheme (RENT) on repeat until I feel better

It’s a good ass song for loud, proud, queer defiance

(heads up the song is nsfw tho)

Put your coping-on-repeat and/or hope-spot song in the notes, if you’d like, so we can all have some new music to listen to as a distraction, too

When I worked at a manufacturing company full of people who…i didn’t agree with their politics, and some of them were very loud about them, I made a playlist called “work music” full of a variety of queer, lefty, pro-union, anti-bigotry type music. Here’s a bunch of it:

Nina cried power, Mississippi goddamn, Christmas in the trenches, gulf war song, power and the glory, your racist friend, ring of keys, here’s to the state of Mississippi, gentlemen of distinction in the army, the chemical workers song, river of tears (Sally Rogers & Claudia Schmidt), why am I painting the living room, I am what I am, this is me, I ain’t marching anymore, praying (kesha), where have all the flowers gone, if I had a hammer, we shall overcome, solidarity forever, bad blood (tswift), not ready to make nice, perfect night (Holly near and Ronnie Gilbert), no more genocide, union medley
