I straight up do not understand the logic behind people who say those doing “unskilled labor” don’t deserve a living wage. I do not give a damn if a CEO has a Harvard business degree and 15 years of experience. The world would collapse without warehouse workers but continue on without the big man at the top.
And the jobs they’re denigrating as unskilled labor are jobs civilization could not survive without, jobs in vital sectors like sanitation and agriculture. Like yes, I do think the people growing my food and carting away trash deserve $30+ an hour, they are hard jobs and my life fucking depends on them.
