“I was born in the wrong generation” I mean this with all the love in my heart, but if you say you want to have been a kid in the early 2000s you’re either stupid or sadistic. they called you a fag for wearing jeans.
an important note: half the time, the guys calling you a fag for wearing jeans were also wearing jeans, but *your* jeans made you a fag
The fag jeans are ones where you can discern a human shape, if any kids are confused. If you wear something that makes you remotely hot then you can trigger gay feelings and if you do that then you are a fag trying to seduce them. There was a whole set of social rules around it. Not being seen as a fag was like 90% of what kids worried about. It’s sounds insane that I’m not even exaggerating, but I’m not.
There were long discussions about whether it was gay or not for a boy to get their ear pierced. People would argue over whether a single stud in your left ear meant you were a poof, or if having a single stud in your right ear made you a poof. Hugging your friends absolutely meant you were a poof.
